Compost Bin for Research Station

Seeing all the garbage the research station was producing (consumption being mostly by the foreigner students & staff), Meg Glasser was inspired to ameliorate the situation by creating a compost for kitchen scraps. She used 'found material' in its construction. Having gained the support of the kitchen staff, she researched, designed and built the structure in a suitable site near the kitchen. When complete, we celebrated. Meg created pamphlets about the why's and how's of composting and gave these to all interested staff & students at La Suerte research station.

Smaller photos above show the construction of the compost bin (far left);
