Cultural Exchanges: Part 1
A Cooking Fiesta

Noting the social divide between the students & teachers (Americans) and the cooking staff (Costa Rican), Sana Masusama chose to do a 2 part project intended to lessen the class distinctions. Sana organized 2 days when the cooking staff prepared traditional Costa Rican foods, with the help of students at the station. Much fun was had and the food delicious; class consciousness dimmed.

The large photo above is of the fiesta creator, Sana, between the chief cook, Alberto and his assistant, Miriam; all are preparing food for the fiesta.

The smaller slides above show a variety of the kitchen staff (far left).
